ESR Tube (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate Tube)
Product Description:
The ESR Tube is designed for collecting blood samples to measure the erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR), a test commonly used to detect inflammation in the body. The tube contains a 3.2% Sodium Citrate solution, which serves as the anticoagulant, preventing blood clotting and allowing accurate sedimentation measurement.
Key Features:
- Additive: 3.2% Sodium Citrate
- Cap Color: Black
- Material: Glass
- Tube Specifications:
- Size: 8 x 120 mm
- Volume: 1.28 ml / 1.6 ml
Procedure for Blood Collection:
- Preparation: Place the patient’s arm in a downward position and clean the venipuncture site with alcohol.
- Tourniquet: Apply the tourniquet to help fill the veins with blood.
- Needle Assembly: Remove the needle cover, assemble the needle into the holder.
- Venipuncture: Perform venipuncture with the arm downward, ensuring the tube stopper is on the top.
- Blood Collection: Push the tube onto the needle, puncturing the stopper diaphragm. As blood enters the tube, release the tourniquet.
- Inversion: Once the tube is filled, turn it upside-down and return it to its upright position. Invert the tube 5-8 times to mix properly.
- Continue: Proceed with subsequent tubes as necessary, following the recommended order of draw.
- Needle Removal: Once blood flow stops, remove the tube from the holder and apply pressure to the venipuncture site with a dry sterile swab.
